Not bad for a cheesy romantic comedy, Bill Murray does it well despite his not-so-funny role. I specially liked how he developed progressively from desperation, gratification, destruction, improvement, generosity and finally humility. It's like the middle age crisis with an added woodchuck! |

It was repeated the other day here but I didn't get a chance to record it, so I cannot really remember it well - I didn't like it much, as Bill Murray is irritating. There's a much better film from the same year, with the same time loop concept, called 12:01... http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0106188/ Groundhog Day has a higher rating, but I'm sure they must have stolen the plot idea and it was probably marketed better - 12:01 has the better storyline as far as I'm concerned. There's an impressive page listing other places where the concept has been used - the X-Files 'Monday' episode with the bank was particularly memorable. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GroundhogDayLoop |

I think it's unfair to compare it with the Groundhog day because one elapses a few days, but the other is close to ten years. Amusingly, Bill Murray character looks much more mentally stable than the 12:01 guy. |
